FO Friday: Mermaid Tears Purse

I am beyond happy to blog about my latest completed project, the Mermaid Tears Purse.  The pattern is free on the Bernat website and they also offer a video tutorial.  Since I was making the purse in one color instead of three like it suggests I decided to skip adding the flower piece.  Overall, I am happy with the finished product although I do notice a few imperfections.

When I saw a friend the other day the very first thing she said to me was "" I love your purse! Did you make that?".  Always nice to get a compliment and now she wants me to make her one.  Very excited that there are still people out there that appreciate handmade goods.

    1. I have not lined it yet but I plan to even though the pattern does not mention lining it.

  3. It's lovely, the pattern looks quite difficult too. I would love to make something like this but it's the lining which puts me off. :)

    1. I just recently lined a purse and it wasn't as hard as I thought although it was time consuming. I haven't lined this purse yet but plan on eventually getting around to it.

  4. I've seen that pattern before, and I think I like it best the way you've done it - in one colour.

  6. I LOVE it too! I would be very please if I were you. I have yarn to knit myself a purse but keep putting it at the bottom of my queue. One of these days...

    Yours is stunning!

  7. Katie your purse turned out wonderful! I just might try that myself even though I am really not one to a small purse. You should see my big leather bag I just bought. I could be one of my projects in it too!!!

    Keep up the good work!

    1. Other than a few clutches, this is probably the smallest purse I have. I love big purses although I put too much stuff in them and then it takes me forever to find what I'm looking for. At least I won't have that problem with this bag.
